The Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners now requires that ALL 30 CE credits must be obtained by December 31 of the year PRIOR to the license expiring. If a license expires on June 30, 2008 then all CE credits to qualify for renewal must be taken by December 31, 2007. The Licensees may still request, in writing a six month extension, but all CE credits must be obtained on or before the expiration date of the license (June 30). Questions??? Dates:Many diseases (such as influenza, chickenpox, measles, mumps, rubella, SARS, tuberculosis as well as the common cold) are transmitted by infected respiratory droplets that may become disseminated when people sneeze, cough, laugh or exhale. Dates:Using the clinical information obtained after performing 2250 head and neck examinations on Virginia patients, the identity of the top thirty most frequently found abnormalities was compared to the data published in J.A.D.A after its review of 23,616 oral examinations. The findings were very similar and comparable. This course will review the 30 most common soft tissue abnormalities of the oral cavity with emphasis placed on the diagnosis, management and treatment of these lesions. Mastering these 30 common lesions will allow the oral health care professional to handle over 93% of the oral mucosal problems that could appear in the office.

Have you ever wondered which “funny looking _______ (teeth, lips, tongue, palate face, etc) are developmental instead of environmental and how do you manage these defects? This course will review the common developmental alterations of teeth including the wrong number of teeth, wrong size/shape and imperfect structure (detinogenesis imperfect, amelogenesis imperfect, dentin dysplasia). Additionally, developmental cysts of jaws along with defects of the soft/hard tissues (clefts, pits, macroglossia, fissured tongue, tori, Eagle’s syndrome, etc) will be discussed. When needed and necessary, treatments options will be offered.
